Oh for the simple pleasures of yester-year before MTV, Xbox and Wii. Come by Durand-Hedden with the kids 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. to participate in a kaleidoscope of fun, old-fashioned activities that include word games and puzzles, morrice, handwork, La Grace, croquet and ice-cream making. Stroll the grounds and check out the progress of the Herb Garden.
Also view the exhibit on the 200 year history of the Roosevelt Park section of Maplewood titled, "After the Hickories: Roosevelt Park" and visit the Country Store for unique gifts and souvenirs. A brief annual meeting for members will follow the program at 4:15 p.m.
The Durand-Hedden House is an historic house museum dedicated to telling the story of the history and development of Maplewood and the surrounding area in new and engaging ways. The House and surrounding Grasmere Park were designated a Maplewood Historic Landmark in 2006.
