Can anyone recommend a surveyor?
  • We have never been sure of our property line on one side, since there are no markers. When we purchased in 1990, the existing survey was simply "updated", which did not clarify the situation. Now that the house next door is vacant (foreclosed, I understand), this may be the time to have a new survey done without seeming to be unfriendly or inordinately territorial. (The bank couldn't care less, I'm sure.) In addition, now that we have a new puppy, we are interested in fencing in part of the yard along that property line so that he has a space to run free in. Any recommendations for a good local surveyor would be welcome.
  • To really know where the the corners are, you will need to have them staked which is an extra charge.

  • Thank you, Truth, for the recommendations. We will ask for estimates from the two surveyors and see where we go from there. Thank you again for taking the time to answer.
  • I think the bank may have to have a survey done for foreclosure proceedings. Check w/ a realtor a/o lawyer... poss save the $$$ and hassle.
  • I appreciate the tip, Apollo T. I will certainly follow up.
